According to District Agriculture Office, the paddy production that contributes almost half of Nepal´s Agricultural Gross Domestic Product (AGDP) was 191,943 tons last year. Officials attributed increase in area of plantation as the major reason for the growth in paddy production.
Of the total 58,500 hectares of agricultural land in the district, paddy was planted in 55,991 hectares of land this year whereas the plantation land last year was 51,185 hectares.
Earlier, agricultural technicians had predicted that the total paddy production would go down by 10 to 12 percent this year due to late arrival of monsoon.
Int´l Dev Bank launches new scheme
International Development Bank announced new International Special Fixed Deposit from Sunday. [break]
Under the scheme, the bank will provide 12% interest rate on annual fixed account, 11% interest rate on half-yearly fixed account and 10% interest rate on quarterly fixed deposit. The minimum balance of Rs 50,000 is required to open the account.
The account holder will also get the benefit of 50% off in locker services and can borrow loan up to 95% of the total deposit, according to a press statement issued by the bank.
NIDC to issue cash dividend, bonus shares
KATHMANDU, Dec 28: NIDC Capital Market Limited has decided to distribute 30 percent bonus shares and 10 percent cash dividend to its shareholders.
According to a press statement, the bonus shares and cash dividend is being provided from the profit earned by the company in fiscal year 2008/09.
Premier´s new saving scheme
KATHMANDU, Dec 28: Premier Finance Company Limited has launched Premier Super Saving Account to provide maximum profit to its customers. According to a press statement, customers will get 9.50 percent interest on daily savings in the account.
The company had earlier introduced Premier Children and women´s fixed account to promote saving culture amongst them.
The company has been providing 11 percent interest on these accounts and also providing accrued interest on quarterly basis.
