HBL in 18th year
KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Himalayan Bank Limited entered into its 18th year of operation on Monday. The bank -- a joint venture with Pakistan´s Habib Bank - had managed to earn profit in just six months of its operation.
The bank managed to mobilize deposits worth Rs 37.55 billion and disbursed loans amounting to Rs 28.92 billion by the end of the first five months of the current fiscal year.
The bank has 2.94 percent of its investment in housing sector and 3.13 percent of its total investment in realty sector, according to a statement issued by the bank.
Revenue collection up
TATOPANI, Jan 18: Tatopani Customs Office collected 53.86 percent of its targeted annual revenue within the first six months of this fiscal year.
The office has the target of collecting Rs 1.07 billion revenue in this fiscal and has collected Rs 1.02 billion within this period.
The collected revenue is 11.2 percent more than the target, said chief customs officer Chain Mani Devkota. It was Rs 870 million at the same period in the last fiscal.
The revenue collection rate increased by 38.64 percent compared to last year.
