Body of man missing since Valentine's Day found

POKHARA, Feb 21: Manoj Paudel, 23, of Pokhara-17, Lamatar, who was missing since last Thursday, has been found dead here on Wednesday evening.



Police recovered Paudel’s body floating on the Phewa Lake at around 6 pm Wednesday. [break]



Paudel, a housekeeping staffer at the Lakeside-based Snowland Dance Bar was last seen during Valentine’s Day celebrations with friends at Bollywood Dance Bar at around 11 pm.



Police have also detained two of his friends for questioning. Paudel’s family had informed police two days after his disappearance.



Earlier, even though police had recovered Poudel’s wallet and bag on the bank of the lake, there had been no clue about his whereabouts. Police with help of divers had searched for the missing man in the lake.



According to Rabindra Paudel, spokesperson for Kaski police, Poudel’s body bears a deep wound in the chin. His body has been kept at the Western Regional Hospital for autopsy.
