Bhutanese PM arriving Kathmandu Thursday

KATHMANDU, April 14: Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigme Y Thinley is arriving in Kathmandu on Thursday to hold consultation meeting with Nepal in his capacity as the current Chair of SAARC.



During his three-day official visit to Nepal, Prime Minister Thinley is scheduled to hold meeting with his Nepali counterpart Jhalanath Khanal and discuss the agenda of the upcoming SAARC summit to be held in the Maldives. [break]



Foreign ministry officials said Nepal and Bhutan will jointly try to set the agenda of climate change in mountain countries, environment degradation and other problems facing the entire South Asia for the upcoming summit.



Nepal will also ask Thinley to resume the stalled bilateral talks between Nepal and Bhutan to resolve the Bhutanese refugee problem.



Foreign ministers of the two countries have held 17 rounds of talks till 2003 to resolve the problem.
