Ball in parties' court: PM Bhattarai

NEPALGUNJ, Dec 8: Prime Minister Babauram Bhattarai on Saturday said that the republican system would fall into jeopardy if new elections could not be held by June next year.



Talking to journalists at before leaving for Kathmandu at Nepalgunj Airport, PM said that new elections must be held by June next year as there is a risk of losing the achievements of people’s revolution 2006 if parties failed to do so.[break]



PM, however, said that elections are only possible if political parties forge an agreement by the third week of this month.



Saying that anyone can lead the next government, he also urged the parties to be flexible on the issue for the sake of country and its people.



He further added that the ball is at the court of the political parties for ending the existing problem in the country.
