Speaking at a press conference organized here on Sunday, President of AYON, Pradeep Pariyar said the nation would never progress without the development of plans and policies related to the youth and their meaningful participation in the national building process.[break]
He further said a National Youth Council was inevitable in order to put into practice the policy introduced by the government.
On the occasion, Mr Pariyar also said that the AYON was going to observe the International Youth Day in Kathmandu including 14 districts with the slogan ´Lets’ Change Nepal’ on August 12.
On the International Youth Day, AYON will also organize a variety of programs like documentary show on youth, interaction program, youth´s dream workshop, interaction on the Youth Policy, various musical shows including publication of Youth Year card and interaction on subjects like millennium development goals.
The International Youth Day is observed every year on 12th August since 1999. United Nations defined an event for highlighting awareness on the requirements of young people between 10 to 24 years.
