The Nepali U-19 team is participating in the U-19 Asia Cup cricket tournament to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 23 to July 2. Nepal will also participate in the ICC U-19 World Cup in Australia in August.[break]
First Secretary Dunn praised the team and also informed them about the conditions of the grounds where the team will play its World Cup matches. “I want you to win all the matches in the World Cup, except against Australia.”
U-19 skipper Prithu Baskota introduced his team mates to the Australian first secretary. After the brief meeting with Dunn, skipper Baskota said the team was motivated by his words.
Dunn was also impressed with the TU Cricket Ground. After having a look at the TU Ground, he said the ground is located at a beautiful place.
Nepali U-19 team was having a gym session at the TU Ground when First Secretary Dunn visited the team. Coach Pubudu Dassanayake informed that the team members were given a day´s rest on Monday and were called up for the gym session on Tuesday.
Skipper Baskota said, “Players were tired after many practice matches and the gym has helped them regain strength.”
