At least 30 killed in Doti bus mishap

DOTI/DADELDHURA, Jan 12: At least 30 people were killed and 12 others injured when a passenger bus skidded off the snowy road at Ruwaskanda, Chhatiwan VDC-9 of Doti district on early Saturday morning.

The deceased have been identified as 22 male, 7 female and a child. According to Rabindra Bhatta, a police inspector who visited the incident site, police have already recovered 29 bodies from the site.[break]

The eight deceased, whose identity has been ascertained so far, are Tek Bahadur Budha of Sidhheshwor-9, Bahadur Sodari of Kalagaon-9, Pawana Shah of Baijanath-9, Krishna KHadka, 29, of Devisthan-6, Pashupat Thakulla, 22, Kalpana Thakulla,19, and Roshanikala Thakulla of Badradei-5 of Achham District and Gagan Thapa of Dhangadhi Municipality-2.

The injured have been identified as Tabendra Rawal, 22, of Kalika-7, Achham, Ishwara Khadka, 45, of Gajara-2, Gulabi Rawal,25, of Darna-5, Bhesh Raj Timalsena, 35, of Timalsaina-6, Pavitra Bohara, 40, of Darna-9, Janak Regmi, 33, of Tikapur Municipality, Kishore Chhaudhary,29, of Hasuliya-1, Jaya Kumar Chaudhary , 19, of Gadariya-8 and Nripa Bista, 25, of Magalsen-9.

The ill-fated bus (Na 4 Kh 3603) met with accident when it was heading to Tikapur of Kailai from Jayagadh of Achham district.

Eighteen more identified in Doti accident

Dhangadhi, Jan. 12: As many as 24 people who died in the bus accident on the Rubaskanda road section of Doti district along the Dhangadhi-Dadeldhura Highway have been identified so far.

According to Yogendra Bohora, a traffic police personnel, who was available at the accident site, Tapendra Thakulla, Bharat Thakulla, Kamala Thakulla, Chakra Thakulla, Devananda Khanal, Rup Bahadur Raut, Kama Singh Thakulla of Darna VDC Ward No. 5, Rangi Devi Rawal of Darna VDC Ward No. 6, Sher Bahadur Saud of Ram Roshan VDC ward No. 9 of Achham district, and Tularam Giri whose address has not been ascertained yet, have been identified.

Similarly, Bimal Budha, 18, of Siddheshwar VDC Ward No. 9, Ramila Shah of Malamikot VDC Ward No. 5, Chandradev Regmi, of Mangalen VDC Ward No.6, Devshara Thakulla, 23, of Bardadevi VDC Ward No.9, Dammari Kumari Thakulla of Bardadevi VDC Ward No. 5 of Achham district, bus driver Makkuram Chaudhary, assistant driver Ganesh Chaudhary of Sadepani VDC Ward No.3, and Ujjali Budha, 56, of Bhajani Kailali have died in the incident.

Other five people died in the incident have not been identified yet whereas eight of the deceased were identified, earlier.

The bus (Na 4 Kha 3603) belongs to Karnali River Yatayat bound to Dhangadhi from Jaygarh of Achham had veered off the road and fell some 600 meters down on Saturday morning.
