RATNANAGAR, Dec. 31: The Chitwan National Park has deployed a troop of Armed Police Force (APF) in Madi area, Chitwan, after the Park administration failed to take the rowdy elephant, ´Dhrube´, under control.

The move comes two weeks after Dhrube went on a rampage in the area demolishing houses and attacking people. The notorious tusker attacked and killed two persons in Chitwan, recently.

According to the Park Administration, the APF troop was deployed in the area in view of possible attack from the wild elephant.

Some 20 APF personnel have been deployed in different entry points to the park where there is the possibility of Dhrube lurking, said Himnath Dawadi, Chief District Officer.
