KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Saturday slapped a one-year ban to Nabil Three Star Club´s player Prabin Karki. The ANFA Disciplinary Committee´s meeting took a decision to this effect owing to Prabin´s improper conduct in the field. [break]

Following the decision, Prabin will be barred from playing any match organized or recognized by ANFA till December 25, 2010.

Prabin had punched assistant referee Madhusudan Khanal after the final whistle of the match between NTSC and Boys Union Club during the British Gurkha Cup on Friday. Prabin manhandled Khanal accusing the latter´s decision regarding the equalizing goal conceded by NTSC. Khanal was punched on his face.

Three Star players had left the ball unnoticed and waited for the referee´s whistle arguing that the ball had crossed the line. But referee Sudish Pandey didn´t whistle as he did not get any signal from assistant referee Khanal.

The Disciplinary Committee announced the ban after studying the match reports filed by match commissioner Kumar Thapa and other referees of the match.

Following the ban, Prabin has automatically been excluded from the national squad, which is preparing for the 11th South Asian Games.
