Agitators involved in barbaric act : Home Ministry

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: The Home Ministry has said inhumane and barbaric activities were being perpetrated during the agitation being led by the Joint Democratic Madhesi Front (JDMF) in Tarai region.

Issuing a press statement Friday evening, the Home Ministry said torture to the security persons and their families and killing with sprinkle of petro is a savage activity.A marauding group mobilized by the Madhesi Front mercilessly beat up assistant sub inspector of the armed police Thaman Bahadur BK at Jaleshwor of Mahottari, and as the injured BK was taken to Janakpur in a Red Cross ambulance, the protestors torched the ambulance and killed the injured BK excruciatingly.

The anarchic, riotous and criminal people have been attacking security persons with homemade weapons since early morning at Jaleshwor.

Similarly, such anarchic people were targeting the security persons with the use of the children and women from villages, and committing arson and vandalism on private and public properties, the Home Ministry said, adding that a protestor was killed when the police used force to tame the situation.
