KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The Martyrs Memorial ´A´ Division League will kick off from February 12. Earlier, there were speculations that the league would be postponed as it coincided with the Budha Subba Gold Cup which is scheduled to be held in Dharan from February 2.

A meeting held between the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and the first division clubs on Friday decided to hold the league on the stipulated date. [break]

The meeting also decided to provide the participating teams with Rs 300,000 as preparation fee and 80 percent of the gate money collected during the league.

Previously, the ´A´ division teams used to receive only gate money. “The meeting has decided to provide 80 percent of the gate money and Rs 300,000 for preparation,” said ANFA CEO Indra Man Tuladhar.

As per the decision, a club can register five foreign players in the team and only four of them could play in a match.

The first division is resuming after three years. The league had discontinued due to dispute between the ´A´ division clubs and ANFA.
