9 dengue cases traced in Chitwan

CHITWAN, AUG 11: The number of dengue patients is on the rise in Chitwan district, with the District Public Health Office (DPHO) confirming nine dengue cases over the last three weeks.



There were altogether five cases of dengue fever in the district between July 17 and August 2 and four more patients contracted disease after that period, informed Ram KC, the vector control inspector at the Chitwan DPHO. [break]



The nine cases of dengue were confirmed during health checkup carried out among 249 patients at various health facilities across the district. Last year, 739 of the 3258 patients had tested positive for dengue.
