KATHMANDU, Sept 25: A meeting of three Mades-based political parties -- Madhesi People´s Rights Forum - Democratic (MPRF-D), Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party and Sadbhawana Party -- on Saturday decided to stay neutral during the eighth round of voting for the prime ministerial election on Sunday.

"As no progress has been made in the talks with parties that are in the prime ministerial race, we have decided to give continuity to our previous stance of staying neutral," a statement jointly issued by the chiefs of the three parties said. [break]

Despite the presence of leaders from three of the four Madhes-based political parties represented in the Unified Democratic Madhesi Front, leaders from MPRF were conspicuously absent at the meeting.
