27 players selected for training

KATHMANDU, May 12: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) selected 27 players on Saturday for the closed-camp training for AFC U-22 Asian Cup Qualifiers to be held in Kathmandu from June 2 to 10.



Earlier, ANFA had selected 30 players for the second round of training. ANFA picked 27 out of the 30 players after the second week training. [break]



ANFA has called back Jagajeet Shrestha, who had faced a one-month ban, for the training. Rohit Chand, who has been playing for Indian club HAL, will join the training later.



ANFA has selected Bikash Kuthu, Bishal Shrestha, Amrit Kumar Chaudhary and Dinesh Thapa Magar as goalkeepers. Likewise, defenders Sabindra Shrestha, Bikash Singh Chhetri, Robin Shrestha, Deepak Bhusal, Palsang Lama and Ajit Bhandari have been called up for the training.



The other selected players are midfielders Shiva Shrestha, Roshan Lamichhane, Prabin Karki, Ganesh Khadka, Rupesh KC, Anil Ojha, Amir Shrestha and Bishal Rai, and strikers Asim Jung Karki, Bharat Khawas, Sujal Shrestha, Jangbu Sherpa and Sushil KC.



Prabin Sainju, Rabi Thapa, Buddha Chemjong and Santosh Tamang have been dropped while Sulav Maskey has been included as a reserve player.



Nepal will play against Yemen, Jordan, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan in the Group D qualifiers.
