The deceased have been identified as 48-year-old Lokendra Kurumbang and his son Sangam Kurumbang, 6 of Khamlalung-6.
They died as their house collapsed after being hit the mudslide triggered by the sudden break down of the waterway of the hydro project at 2 am today.
Likewise, 46-year-old wife Resma Kurumbang and daughter Sandhya Kurumbang were injured in the incident. They have been taken out of the district for treatment, said Keshab Pahim.
According to police, the incident has also claimed two buffaloes and four goats.
As many as 261 households have been benefited from the hydro project. The police have reached the incident site.
