KATHMANDU, April 4: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has cancelled 15 international flights scheduled for Saturday, citing ongoing airspace restrictions in the Middle East.
Since February 28, flights to Gulf countries including Kuwait, Doha, and Dammam have been frequently suspended due to conflict-related restrictions.
Airspace closed, flights cancelled as US-Iran conflict flares
According to the Tribhuvan International Airport office, flights operated by Jazeera Airways and Kuwait Airways on the Kuwait–Kathmandu–Kuwait route have been cancelled. Nepal Airlines and Himalaya Airlines flights on the Kathmandu–Doha–Kathmandu and Kathmandu–Dammam–Kathmandu routes have also been affected. In addition, Nepal Airlines’ Kathmandu–Dubai flight has been cancelled.
CAAN has urged passengers to confirm the status of their flights before arriving at the airport, as cancellations have been occurring daily.
