The registration number of the ill-fated jeep is yet to be known. According to police, eight persons died on the spot and two others breathed their last while undergoing treatment at Damauli Hospital.
The jeep was on its way to Tanahun district headquarters Damauli. It skidded off the road and fell 150 meters down the sloppy Setang area in Kahu Shivapur. The reason behind the accident is yet to be known. Police are yet to ascertain the identities of the deceased and the injured.
The injured are receiving treatment at Damauli Hospital. Some of the critically injured passengers have been taken to Pokhara for further treatment.
