Nearly 1,000 people from Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat, Kaski and some other districts, having some health problems, participated in the festival and drank potent blood of yak, according to the festival organising committee. [break]
Without killing yak, fresh blood is extracted by piercing its body and people drink the raw blood from glass paying certain price.
Consumption of yak blood cures gastritis, impotence, belly swelling and increases immunity power, said Rudra Bahadur Magar, chairman of Paudwar Yad Rearing Committee.
He said the money collected in the festival goes to Paudwar Secondary School and Himanchal Higher Secondary School.
