Youth cricketers win in India

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Nepali youth team, preparing for the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifiers, beat U-19 team of Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club by six wickets in a 50-over practice match played at the St Stephen's Cricket Ground, East Delhi, India on Tuesday.



Sandeep Sunar completed half century scoring 54 runs and skipper Raju Rijal added 45 runs to help Nepal chase 171 runs in 27.2 overs.

Sandeep hit nine fours facing 62 balls and Raju smashed a six and four boundaries against local club Vijay Dahiya, which featured players of Ranji trophy and state level players.


Earlier, winning the toss Nepal invited Vijay Dahiya to bat first and restricted the home side for 170 runs in 47.4 overs. Dipesh Shrestha, Prem Tamang and Dipendra Airee claimed two wickets each to restrict the opponent.
