YCL member killed in Jhapa

BHADRAPUR, July 4: An unidentified gang stabbed a youth to death in Bhadrapur, Jhapa, Saturday night.



The gang killed 20-year-old Chhatra Bahadur Rai, the son of Bir Bahadur Rai, a staff of Mechi Zonal Hospital at around 10 p.m. The gang of four persons who came on three motorcycles attacked Rai with sharp-edged weapon near the hospital. He died on the way to hospital.



He was a member of the Young Communist League, Bhadrapur municipal committee, according to a Maoist leader, Hikmat. He was killed while he was returning home after watching a World Cup football match with his brother.



Police have launched a massive manhunt to identify and nab the killers. Police said a few suspected persons have been detained for interrogation.
