KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Cadres of Maoist youth wing Young Communist League beat up construction entrepreneurs in Fidim, the district headquarters of Panchthar, after seizing the district court Sunday, reported Nepal Samacharpatra.

Around 100 YCL cadres attacked construction entrepreneurs Birendra Kumar Nembang and Kedarnath Banskota with rods after the duo reached at the court premises to register tender forms for a contract to construct compound wall around the district court.

The YCL cadres took the court premises in their control starting 10 a.m. Sunday saying that the construction contract should be in their favor. The YCL cadres registered a separate tender form in the name of Narahari Upreti.

"Though 41 construction entrepreneurs had bought the tender forms for the contract, only one form has been registered so far (as of Sunday)," said District Judge Mahendra Raj Gautam.

"It is a sad incident. Everyone should be allowed to bid," he said. Chairman of district chapter of the Construction Entrepreneurs´ Association, termed the incident as YCL´s "anarchic action", the daily reported.
