Three policemen were severely injured in the incident and are receiving treatment at Police Hospital, Maharajgunj, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Govinda Pariyar.[break]
After policemen stopped three YCL cadres for security-check, they manhandled the policemen. After police attempted to take them under control, more cadres from nearby YCL camp arrived and beat up policemen using iron rods, according to Pariyar.
Due to the clash, Kapan’s belly-bridge area remained tense for an hour.
According to Pariyar, those YCL cadres who were involved in the attack, have been identified.
