Writ petition against MRP decision

KATHMANDU, April 6: Two separate writ petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court on Tuesday against the government´s decision to import Machine Readable Passport (MRP) from India.



The petitioners, including Nar Bahadur KC, have accused government of violating the existing Procurement Act and other basic principles while deciding to import MRP from India.



They said the government´s decision disregards national sovereignty.
