KATHMANDU, March 19: Saraswati Group, the New Delhi-based educational publisher, along with Nepal Sahitya Kendra of Kathmandu, organized a one-day workshop for schoolteachers titled “How to Improve English Language Skills to Connect with 21st Century Global Village.”

The workshop was held at Hotel Annapurna, Durbar Marg, last Saturday. [break]

The facilitator for the workshop was Dr. Shalini Verma, a well-known grammarian and author of more than 25 best-selling books.

The workshop was attended by about a hundred teachers from primary and secondary schools within the Kathmandu Valley.

Dr. Verma, using various unconventional techniques like simulation games and interactive videos, emphasized on inductive ways of learning English language rather than rote memory-based learning.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks given by Rakesh Goswami, National Sales Manager of Saraswati Group.
