Women's network submits six-point memo to the HLPC

KATHMANDU, Aug 2: Organizations including the Inter Party Women´s Network have submitted a memorandum to the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) demanding guarantee of inclusive participation of women in proportional in the next Constituent Assembly (CA) elections.



The network women reached the HLPC meeting Friday morning and handed over the memo which demands at least 33 percent women´s representation and one third constituencies for them. [break]



They also demanded guarantee of 50 percent women´s representation in the proportional and cancelation of registration of a party which does not give candidacy in that ratio. It also demanded women´s representation in the HLPC.



CPN-UML leader Radha Gyawali and other women leaders and rights workers also addressed corner meeting of after the demonstration.
