KATHMANDU, Aug 5: A 16-member women's basketball team, including 12 players, will leave for India on Thursday to participate in the All India Basketball Championship slated for August 10-15 in Tamil Nadu.
Nepal team comprises of Preeti Tulachan (captain), Sneha Shrestha, Sujata Rai, Upama Pokhrel, Bhawani Lama, Anusha Malla, Lunibha Singh, Shanti Shrestha, Sweta Kharel, Maya Syangtan, Alina Gurung and Alisha Malla.
Enriching the standard of Nepali basketball
Bikash Shahi is the chief coach, while Sadina Shrestha is the assistant coach of the team. Likewise, Niranjan Satyal has been appointed as the team manager and Nayana Shakya the team official.
Meanwhile, National Sports Council Vice President and Nepal Basketball Association President Lama Tendi Sherpa, among others, bade farewell to the team on Wednesday.
