Woman thrashed on witchcraft charge

NUWAKOT, Aug 13: A youth in Saatbise of Sundaradevi VDC-2 in eastern Nuwakot thrashed a woman till unconsciousness accusing her of practicing witchcraft.



Ganesh Karki mercilessly beat up 45-year-old Ishwari Thapa on witchcraft charges, Thapa´s daughter Sita said on Thursday. Karki attacked her when she was alone at home with the intention of killing her because of personal feud, Sita said.



Thapa, who was critically injured in the attack, is being treated at Binayak Hospital in Kathmandu. Karki is at large.
