Although locals tried to douse the fire, it was just a futile effort. They are now in dire need of help, said a local Top Lal Aryal.

According to police, security persons from Isma Rajasthala-based Nepal Army and Padudi Police Post have left to the burning village.

Meanwhile, the fire spread at Simachaur near the district headquarters has turned wild making rescue team of police and locals´ efforts futile.

Police have appealed to the neighboring villagers to help control fire, as it began entering Tangnam Kharkas village, already engulfing Bihichaur Community Forest.

A team deputed from Kalidatta Battalion this morning brought the fire under control to some extent, however, it has been herculean task for the security persons to wipe out the fire due to storm, the police added.
