Wife killed, husband injured in Banke accident

BANKE, Sept 22: A woman was killed and her husband injured after the rickshaw they were traveling on was hit by a truck (Bhe 1 Ka 166) at Ranjha Chowk on Tuesday.



Lukki Yadav, 22, who was traveling in the rickshaw pulled by her husband Dhaniram was killed in the incident, police said. Dhaniram is receiving treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College.



A group demanding compensation for the bereaved husband obstructed traffic along Kohalpur-Nepalgunj section of the highway on Tuesday morning. Police later used force to clear the highway.



However, the truck driver is at large, police said.
