Show solidarity for the cause of energy efficiency by participating in Earth Hour this Saturday, March 28. Earth Hour is celebrated on the last Saturday of March every year. Organized by WWF, the movement was started in 2007 in Australia where millions of people participated to show their unity against climate change.
You can also join in the movement by turning off all the non essential lights in your home for an hour. This year, Earth Hour is celebrated between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM. So charge your solar lights, or get some candles ready. You can also switch your off your electronic devices. Tell your friends, spread the word.
Happy Earth Day!
It doesn’t have to be an hour where you sit around in darkness. You can use this time to actually do things you’d normally be distracted from doing by social media, TV, etc. Or have some fun by getting together with your family members or friends. Play cards, tell stories, etc.
WWF Nepal is celebrating Earth Hour in Basantapur Durbar Square, starting from 5 PM onwards. You can also go there to show your support for the cause. And while you’re there, you will be able to enjoy music by the popular band 1974 AD, who will also light butter lamps to show their support.
