KATHMANDU, Feb 4: A westerly low-pressure system is currently affecting the country, with generally cloudy conditions prevailing in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces as well as other hilly and mountainous regions, while the remaining areas are experiencing partly cloudy skies.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), fog is likely to occur in some parts of the Tarai region this afternoon. The high hills and mountainous areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy, while other areas will remain partly cloudy. There is also a possibility of light snowfall and rainfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of these provinces.

Similarly, fog is expected in some parts of the Tarai tonight. The high hills and mountainous places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain partly cloudy, while the weather in the rest of the country is expected to remain mainly fair. There is a chance of light snowfall and rainfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
The MFD has urged the public and concerned authorities to exercise caution, as snowfall, rainfall, and fog may affect daily life, tourism, trekking activities, health services, and both air and road transportation.
