The mall that created a buzz with its operation in the splendid setting is all set to attract its customers with even better and lucrative offers. United World Trade Center (UWTC), Tripureshwar has come up with the biggest shopping bang in this festive season.



Myrepublica.com talked with Trilokeshwor Malla, Managing Director of Direction Nepal, the major player behind Kinmel Dhamaka at UWTC, and a member of the Center´s Executive Committee.



Myrepublica.com: How has UWTC planned to make this Dashain shopping different?



Trilokeshwor Malla: Apart from the normal discount offers that the 240 stores here are giving, UWTC has come up with the biggest shopping scheme ever. The Kinmel Dhamaka at UWTC will give away 1,864 gift hampers to those coming to shop here. Lifan car and Bajaj Pulsars are the major attraction in our scheme. Customers will be given a coupon upon the purchase of good costing Rs 500 or above and can make their way for the lucky draw. This festive season, we are looking forward to sell high quality goods at affordable prices to our valued customers.



Myrepublica.com: How do you expect your business to grow this season?



Malla: Look, Dashain is in fact the most essential period that helps businessmen to make the most. Every businessman man wants to recover their whole year´s investment during Dashain. So, like others, we too are looking forward to make a good deal this time.







Myrepublica.com: How have you played with the prices for the festival?



Malla: All the shopping outlets in UWTC have made major reduction in their prices. The management has coordinated with the businessmen here and they have reduced the prices of the products by 10 to 15 percent. But this does not mean that we have compromised with the quality. We would like to assure the customers that we have qualitative products at reasonable prices here.



Myrepublica.com: What is the competitive edge of UWTC over other shopping malls?



Malla: What not? We have many things to offer to our customers. We are located in splendid setting and we serve quality products at reasonable prices. Above all, we will be the first to introduce Sab Safe logo. This logo is a trademark given to the products that have maintained quality. Through the trademark, UWTC also plans to bring uniformity in prices. A product will cost the same in every shop here. We are not just providing better offers for our customers, shopkeepers here are charged less rent and electricity rates in comparison to other shopping complex.



Myrepublica.com: How many customers does UWTC aim to attract this festive season? How do you think that will affect your sales volume?



Malla: We are expecting about 100,000 people to visit us in a week´s time. In comparison to other normal shopping days, we are expecting more than 10 percent turnover during this festive season. Our calculation shows that we will have the turnover of more than Rs 10 million during Dashain and Tihar.



Myrepublica.com: How do you think have malls contributed in shifting shopping habits?



Malla: People have started valuing time a lot. One tends to get engaged in multiple tasks these days. People´s purchasing capacity has increased. It´s obvious that people want to take minimum time to shop their essential goods. Since malls provide everything under a single roof, people have started shifting to shopping malls instead of rushing to multiple places for stuffs.
