Voting for vice-presidential election underway (with photo feature)

KATHMANDU, Oct. 31: The voting process for the vice-presidential election has startd in Lhotse Hall of Legislature-Parliament. The voting shall continue till 2:00 pm.

The Legislature-Parliament is electing the Vice-President for the first time after the promulgation of new constitution.

Nanda Bahadur Pun (UCPN (M)           Amiya Kumar Yadav (NC)

The Standing Committee (SC) member of the UCPN (Maoist) Nanda Bahadur Pun had registered his candidacy to the post of the President with the backing of the ruling alliance while Nepali Congress leader Amiya Kumar Yadav has also filed his candidacy.

The Legislature-Parliament Secretariat said that the vote counts would begin at 2:30 pm today and Speaker Onsari Ghartimagar would announce the results in the Legislature-Parliament meeting to be held at 5:00 pm this evening.
