Representatives of the three major student unions and TU´s election committee officials are holding a meeting at the Central Department of Education in the campus premises.
The central university´s administration has appealed to National Human Rights Commission to send its representatives to witness the ballot-counting.
All Nepal National Independent Students´ Union-Revolutionary, the student wing of the Maoist party, has decided to boycott the counting.
All Nepal National Free Students´ Union (ANNFSU), the student wing of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), is leading in the FSU results published so far. Nepal Students´ Union, affiliated with Nepali Congress, is in second position while the ANNISU-R is a close third. The FSU elections were held on March 19.
Both the ANNFSU and NSU have demanded resumption of the counting, while the Maoist student wing is opposed to it. ANNISU-R has said that it´s concerns about the validity of ballot have not been addressed.
Counting has been postponed at several campuses across the country due to disputes over ballots and violence among student unions.
Meanwhile, the postponed FSU elections in Padma Kanya (PK) Campus and Ratna Rajyalaxmi (RR) Campus in the capital will be held on Sunday and Monday, respectively, the election committee authorities in the two colleges said.
