Volleyball team off to India<br/>Unique Cup basketball from Monday

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: A 16-member delegation including 12 players left for Assam, India on Sunday to participate in the Ninth Bodoland Martyr Gold Cup Volleyball Championship. [break]







Bharat Bahadur Shah, Kailashdatt Bhatta, Jhom Bahadur Thapa, Sunil Kumar Shrestha, Saroj Shrestha, Khushi Chaudhary, Ramananda Singh, Prem Bahadur Shahi, Roman Shrestha, Sanjay Aryal, Tahal Singh Thapa Magar, Im Bahadur Magar are the players participating in the event while Keshav Lal Shrestha and Jayanta Bahadur Chand are coaches. Manager Lil Bahadur Thapa and journalist Kamal KC are also in the team.



Besides Nepal, six Indian clubs will participate in the championship that will be held on December 2-4.





Unique Cup basketball from Monday



KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Fifth Unique Cup Valley-wide Inter-school Basketball Tournament is set to kick off on Monday.



The hosts Unique Higher Secondary School, organizing a press conference on Sunday, informed that the tournament would consist three categories -- junior boys, girls and three-on-three senior boys. Altogether forty teams will participate in the tournament will be held at the hosts´ court at Siphal.



According to school´s Principal Yogendra Kurungwang, the tournament will be held in league-cum-knockout format.
