Visiting Oz minister calls on PM

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Australian Parliamentary Secretary for Pacific Island Affairs and Foreign Affairs Richard Marles, who is currently on a two-day visit to Nepal, called on Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai at the latter’s office in Singh Durbar on Tuesday.



At the meeting, the duo discussed bilateral issues, including Nepal’s latest political situation. On the occasion, the Australian minister also expressed concerns about the ongoing political processes in the country.



Earlier, Marles had held discussion with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha on bilateral issues, including bringing more Australian investment into Nepal.



Similarly, Marles has also called on Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha this morning. During the meeting the duo discussed issues of mutual cooperation and ways to strengthen the bilateral relations of the two countries.
