US envoy Teplitz presents credentials

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: President Ram Baran Yadav received Letters of Credence on Wednesday from Alaina B Teplitz, Raul Ignacio Guastavino, Gennet Zewide, ambassadors of the United States of America, Argentine Republic and Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Nepal, respectively, amid a special ceremony held at the Ceremonial Hall, at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas.

Alaina B Teplitz is a residential Ambassador, while Raul Ignacio Guastavino and Gennet Zewide are based in New Delhi with concurrent accreditation to Nepal.Minister for Health and Population and Minister in-charge of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khaga Raj Adhikari, Chief of the Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri, Officiating Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Officiating Secretary at the Office of the President Bhupendra Prasad Paudyal and other senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present during the occasion.

"I am very happy to be here as President Obama's representative to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal," said Ambassador Teplitz. "And I look forward to building on over six decades of partnership and cooperation with Nepal in order to enhance prosperity, encourage democracy and ensure stability."
