Wouldn’t you really want to be somewhere like this for your perfect wining and dining experience? As soon as I stepped into Casablanca, the first eatery that you see on your left as soon as you enter Baber Mahal Revisited, I was awed by the beauty of the restaurant. It’s always the first look of anything that appeals to one to know more about it.
Casablanca is one of those few eateries in town which assures that once you’re in, you won’t walk away without trying out all what it has to offer.
Promoted by Dawa Steven Sherpa, Casablanca is rich in its interior, varied cocktails and buzzing with activities. The interior of the restaurant, designed by Nima Martin Sherpa, is extremely attractive. Sherpa has left no space to complain about when it comes to the ambience of the restaurant. The entire two hours while I was there, I felt like I was actually at home.

Set in a lounge style, Casablanca is unique in its own way. From the bookshelves, to a home theater, and the comfortable couches, it feels like you’re staying inside your living room with your dear and near ones for a happy dinner together.
You can pick your favorite books to read while you wait for your food or just pick a movie from the eatery’s collection and indulge yourself. Even after your delicacies are served, you have many more things to indulge in. Remembering the golden days of your childhood, you can play monopoly or snakes-and-ladders. Whoever loses has to stand a tequila shot. You can play poker or just tune into some reggae or blues. All of these activities come on the house at Casablanca. Not to miss definitely is the Karaoke nights, every evening for only Rs 500.
If you would like to be with just your gang and not in front of the TV set, then it’s the White Room, a cozy comfortable niche in neo-classic décor, focusing on a white theme, stretching next to the bar where ten people can be accommodated.
Casablanca focuses mainly on cocktails. The exotic cocktails from different corners of the globe are fine and smooth. From Strawberry Martini to Mojito, Litchi Martini, Cosmopolitan, Apple Tini to Blue Lagoon and from Tequila shots to Baileys, B52 and Pina coladas, the restro’s bar has more than two dozen concoctions to keep your weekends smooth and silky.

For food, Chef Tek Bahadur Sunuwar knows well how to keep his clients happy. For me, Napolitano and Bolognese never tasted so yummy before. The amount of cheese, bacon and spices were just right and the topping of white pepper and some salt added extra flavor to it. If you want to try something but not pasta, it would be a crime if you miss out on Casablanca Special Deep Fried Chicken – crumbs-covered succulent pieces of chicken served with golden French fries and a light salad. Chicken Lolly and Crème Caramel can follow after your main course. And if you really want your Friday night to be high and colorful, you must not miss the Long Island Tea – a very explosive mixture of white rum, gin, vodka, tequila, triple sec and fresh lime juice topped with Coke.
As one of the partners Tenzing Sherpa said, “We promise you an unforgettable dining experience.” The weekend has perhaps arrived again, and your wondering should be put to rest as it’s Casablanca where you should be heading tonight with your buddies. It takes Rs 2,500 for two for a real eating out experience.
Oh! And also, you can dance the night away on a hippy dance floor before the terrace of the restaurant.
