KATHMANDU, March 26: It’s time to bring out those old torn jeans and skull-motif T-shirts. And be ready to bang your heads at “Ides of March,” billed as the biggest underground concert to date in Kathmandu.

On the occasion of ktmROCK’s 10th anniversary, nine bands will be joining forces to rock the crowd today at Funpark, Bhrikuti Mandap.[break]

An online magazine and event management organization, ktmROCKS has been organizing concerts and events to promote Nepali underground scene since 2001.

Umesh Shrestha, one of the founders of ktmROCKS, says, “We’ve come a long way. It’s been a decade of hard work, challenges and sacrifices. The underground music scene in Nepal is still evolving, and the concert will be a milestone on that journey.”

A press release issued by the organizers mentions that the event is being partnered with International Sound Service (ISS), and the stage, lights and sound are of international standards.

“The gig’s going to be bigger and better, and we aren’t compromising on this one. We’re expecting a crowd of 4,000, and they won’t be disappointed,” promises Shrestha.

Adrenaline-spiking guitar riffs, pounding bass, and relentless beats of drums, and combined with vocals that range from spine-tingling to absolutely gothic, be ready for some hardcore rock treatment – courtesy of Antim Grahan, Kalo Din, E.Quals, Hate Book, Rage Hybrid, Wings of Spasm, Divine Influence, and Spinal Discord.

So while others are meditating to relieve some stress, you can practice your head-banging and relish the adrenaline kick at the “Ides of March” from 1 pm onward.

The tickets are priced at Rs 150 each.
