KATHMANDU, March 9: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is visiting Nepal on April 28.

Dr Minendra Rijal, a member of Greater Lumbini Development National Steering Committee, informed about Ban´s visit after the committee´s meeting in the capital Friday. [break]

Ban is paying a two-day visit to Nepal at the invitation of the chairman of the government-formed High Level Steering Committee (HLSC) for the Development of Greater Lumbini, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, last November.

Rijal informed that details about his Nepal visit would be made public on March 13.

Ban was originally scheduled to visit Nepal in March. But he had deferred the visit for April as Nepal could not make necessary preparations for an event aimed at garnering international support for the development of Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha.
