KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The CPN-UML is preparing to finalize its candidates for the House of Representatives (HoR) election, scheduled for March 5, at a Central Secretariat meeting on Saturday. The meeting, set for 1 PM, is expected to give final approval to the party’s candidate list.
The Secretariat meeting had earlier been mandated by the Central Committee meeting to settle the names ahead of the election.

According to the election calendar issued by the Election Commission, candidate nominations in all 165 constituencies will be filed on Tuesday, leaving parties with little time to complete internal preparations.
Lower-level party bodies — including constituency coordination, district and provincial committees — have already submitted their recommendations to the central leadership.
More than 30 leaders including party Chair KP Sharma Oli have been unanimously recommended by the lower committees.
