UML lawmakers press Oli for including hill districts into Province 2

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: CPN-UML central committee members and lawmakers have handed over a memorandum to their party chairman KP Sharma Oli demanding alteration in the proposed demarcation of Province 2.

Submitting the 10-point demand, the lawmakers have tried to lobby Chairman Oli to include Udayapur, Sindhuli and Makawanpur  in Province 2.

The implementation of agreement of Madhesh movement, easing the process for issuance of citizenship certificates, formation of commissions for Tharu, Madhesi and Muslim are among the other demands.

Leaders including Nagendra Chaudhary, Satrughana Mahato, Jagadish Kusiyat, Shree Prasad Sah, Standing Committee member Satyanarayan Mandal had reached Oli's house.

In response, Oli requested the leaders not to put him in trouble at a time when we are at the eleventh hour of the deadline given for registering amendments to the constitution bill.

The deadline given by Constituent Assembly for filing any amendment proposals is expiring Saturday evening.
