UML General Convention: One representative takes 30 minutes to vote; When will the results be out?

The UML said that vote counting will begin immediately after voting concludes, and preparations are in place to announce the final results before 10 PM tonight.

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: The voting process to elect the leadership at the CPN-UML’s 11th General Convention is progressing enthusiastically. Voting began at 9:20 AM, with 80 electronic voting machines in operation.



Each representative takes around half an hour to complete the voting process.

According to UML Publicity Department Chief Rajendra Gautam, participation among the 2,263 eligible voters has been enthusiastic.


“The voting is progressing in a very positive and orderly manner. Voters have been ensured the right to choose their leaders in a fair and fear-free environment,” Gautam said.


He said the voting process is expected to take more than eight and a half hours to complete. Vote counting will begin immediately after voting concludes, and preparations are in place to announce the final results before 10 PM tonight, he added.
