The district leaders also criticized the party leaders in the government for mentioning “people´s war” in the government´s policy and programs presented in parliament.

Nepal, Oli hold separate press meets
Standing Committee member KP Sharma Oli, flanked by some UML leaders loyal to him, on Sunday held a press meet at Mirabel Hotel, while the national conclave was underway at Dhulikhel Lodge Resort.
“I want to remind some party leaders that they were not the only ones to be elected in the party´s general convention. There were others as well who were elected,” he said.
Leaders close to party Chairman Jhalanath Khanal have argued that the chairman directly elected from the convention should enjoy a bigger role and that he doesn´t need to devolve power.
Oli also accused some leaders of not working as per the spirit of collective leadership. “The general convention has authorized us to adopt collective leadership but some have the confusion that they reserve all the rights,” he said.
Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at a separate press meet said some leaders have misinterpreted the party statute saying that the party chairman can do anything he wants. “It is not the UML´s policy to centralize all the powers in the hands of party chairman,” he said.
UML leaders lambaste Maoist ministers
Participants at the gathering fiercely criticized the Maoist ministers for allegedly running their ministries and departments arbitrarily. They also accused the Maoists of promoting anarchy and impunity by misusing the home administration. “This meeting also urges the prime minister to control such wrong activities and to work effectively as per the democratic principles and party policies,” said one of the six proposal endorsed by the meeting.
