Chairman Jhalanath Khanal presented a political document with the election mobilization plan in the meeting which envisages to make the UML the largest political party in the second CA.
Chairman Khanal had informed the meeting about the latest political activities and submitted the party action plan for the CA election, said UML Secretary, Bishnu Prasad Paudel. [break]
The meeting would hold discussion on the party´s election manifesto, selection of candidates for CA election and criteria, formation of the election mobilization committee, publicity plan, volunteers mobilization, finance, security, and coordination among others proposals.
Today´s meeting had also informed that the hunger strike staged by Nanda Prasad Adhikari and his wife Ganga Maya Adhikari demanding that the guilty involved in the murder of their son Krishna Prasad Adhikari had drawn the party´s attention. Krishna Prasad was allegedly abducted and murdered by unidentified people on June 6, 2004 during the conflict period.
The meeting has also expressed concern for not expediting the investigation process though different political parties, human rights commission, rights activists, and civil society drew serious attention in this regard.
UML also condemned the objectionable comments casting aspersion on the dignity of the Adhikari couple. The meeting also demanded the government to save the life of the Adhikari couple and address the demands of the Adhikari couple.
The next meeting will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday.
