KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The final list of candidates for the election to be held under the 11th National General Convention of the CPN-UML has been published.
According to the party’s Central Election Commission, the final list of candidates registered for the posts of office-bearers and members of the Central Committee, Central Disciplinary Commission, and Central Accounts Commission was made public on Tuesday.

Earlier on late Monday night, the party had published a preliminary list at the closed-door session venue in Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, urging candidates or concerned parties to file claims, objections, or requests for amendments within the stipulated time by submitting applications or amendment notices to the Election Committee office.
According to the final list, KP Sharma Oli and Ishwar Pokhrel have filed candidacies for the post of party chair. Similarly, 11 candidates have registered for the five vice-chair positions. Two candidates have filed nominations for the general secretary post, while seven candidates are in the race for three deputy general secretary positions, and 20 candidates have registered for the nine secretary posts.
Likewise, 168 candidates have filed nominations for 73 central committee member positions under the open category.
The election for various posts will begin at 1 PM and continue until 7 PM. Electronic voting machines will be used.
