UDMF still undecided over PM voting

KATHMANDU, August 2: United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) has decided to hold internal parleys over the Maoists´ response on their demands.



After a meeting with Unified CPN (Maoist) leaders at Singha Durbar on Monday, UDMF said that they need to hold discussions within the parties to decide their stance on prime ministerial voting. [break]



Speaking with reporters after the meeting Maoist vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha said that the meeting could not take any decisions but was heading in a positive direction.



“UDMF has decided to hold parleys within their party over our response to their demands,” Shrestha said.



Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, vice-chairmen—Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Mohan Baidya and Shrestha—and general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa and all the senior leaders from the UDMF were present in the meeting.
