According to Acting Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Republican (MPRF-R) Rajkishor Yadav, the meeting also formed a 10-member main preparations committee and six sub-committees under it.
The Madhesi alliance had decided on Sunday to hold a mass gathering at Khulamanch, Kathmandu on March 31 in a bid to exert pressure on the big three political parties for a new constitution that guarantees a federal structure for the country based on identity and inclusiveness.
“We will deliver a clear message through the mass gathering that the Madhesi people are not going to settle for a non-federalist constitution under any circumstances,” said Vice-chairman of MPRF-Democratic Rameshwor Raya Yadav, a member of the main preparations committee for the mass gathering.
He stated that they would also urge all pro-federalist political parties for cooperation and unity in order to challenge a conspiracy being hatched against federalism.
Senior leaders of the UDMF will address the mass gathering. “We will finalize on Friday the list of leaders who will address the mass gathering,” Yadav stated.
The Madhes-based parties have accused the Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and ´a group´ in the UCPN (Maoist) of hatching a conspiracy against the country going federal.
Some leaders of major political parties had recently made public statements saying the constitution could be promulgated while leaving a decision on federal structure pending.
