KATHMANDU, Sept 28: In the wake of party senior leader Baburam Bhattarai quitting the party, UCPN (Maoist) central committee meeting on Monday decided to seek clarification from five of its leaders.

The meeting has decided to seek clarification from leader and lawmaker Prabhu Sah for not signing on the new constitution. Similarly, the party has sought clarification from central committee members Ram Rijhan Yadav and Ram Kumar Sharma for flouting party's line and not establishing connection with the party. The party has also decided to summon Lokendra Bista and Hemanta Prakash Oli for clarification as they have failed to maintain contact with the party even though they have yet to resign from their posts, said UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma.

Although some party leaders demanded strong punishment for the leaders who have flouted the party line, others suggested they be made to furnish clarification for the time being.

Meanwhile, the party has decided to hold orientation sessions for the party cadres on the contents of the new constitution at four different places across the country.

UCPN (Maoist) central committee meeting also instructed its sister wings to launch protests against the economic blockade by India. Central committee meeting of the party has been adjourned till November 1.
